Just weeks after Nintendo lost a court case against Anascape, Nintendo has been sued by Hillcrest Labs for violation of their intellectual property (see links below for related patents 7,158,118, 7,262,760, and 7,414,611, 7,139,983). Note that the Hillcrest Labs patents only applies to US and as such Hillcrest Labs is requesting the stop of imports of Wii to US.

PREDICTION: Nintendo to lose the patent lawsuit filed by Hillcrest Labs. Judgement will be only rendered after a court decision has been made or an out-of-court settlement is made. Bet closing date may be adjusted monthly at TIS discretion if the lawsuit proceeding continues for an extended period.

That's really no surprise. Richard Flamm, the VP in Legal does not understand patent prosecution nor technology. He is an average former local litigator who got up in the ranks by schmoozing.
