Google's Chrome browser gains 10+% marketshare

A new Google project, Chrome -- an open-source browser -- was announced today.

This prediction is that Chrome will achieve at least 10% market share according to Net Applications (monthly statistics) by September 1st, 2009. If Chrome is publicly disavowed by Google this prediction may be closed early.

Why bother?

denis Lafont's suggestion on the same topic, which followed this one by a couple of hours and needed significant editing, made it onto the Featured Suggestions list on the homepage and, as a result, received double-digit Yes votes (and no No votes the last time I saw it). And has now made it all the way into becoming a playable prediction. Yet this suggestion, which didn't get lucky and tapped by TIS editors for featuring, languished, receiving a vote of 1-1.

What possible incentive is there to make such a search prior to posting a new suggestion?

It also helps highlight just how important featuring can be.
