According to reports, talks have started between ITAA and AeA, two industry trade associations, possibly leading to a merger.

The plan is to start consolidating the groups within the information technology field into a single, larger, trade association, which can then represent its members more efficiently and more effectively.

The form of the merger is irrelevant -- whether a merger of equals or a subsumation of one of the two groups by the other. This prediction is that there will be a formal announcement of the merger of these two groups by the end of November. The actual merger date can be after November 30th, but the announcement must take place on or prior to that date.
