Judgment made on February 9, 2009: Meg Whitman set up a website to announce her gubernatorial bid. This prediction is correct. - The Industry Standard

Original prediction: Former eBay CEO Meg Whitman reportedly has plans to run for governor of California in the 2010 election. Two-term Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger cannot run for reelection.

Whitman is sending strong signals that she's gearing up for her own GOP campaign. Whitman, 52, joined Republican John McCain's presidential campaign as a national co-chairwoman last year. She has already resigned from the boards that she sits on, which include eBay, Procter & Gamble, and DreamWorks Animation SKG. And Whitman's lawyers are battling with a Santa Monica man who has already registered numerous websites like megwhitmanforgovernor.com and megwhitman2010.com.

Prediction: Meg Whitman announces a gubernatorial bid for California by March 31, 2009. For a favorable judgment, Meg Whitman needs to make a formal announcement or announce that she has created an exploratory committee.
