Judgment, May 7, 2008: Incredibly, Grand Theft Auto IV's first-week sales broke records beyond belief. The official press release is here. The community correctly predicted that GTA would break $400 million, and this is being judged at S$100. -- The Industry Standard
This one'll have to be a quickie...
Variety is citing industry sources claiming that based on pre-sale numbers and shipments to retailers that GTA IV may clear $400,000,000 in sales during its first week on the market. It is due for release on April 29th. This would far exceed the current video game record holder, Halo 3 (with ~$300,000,000).

Looks like this is a done deal. According to the NYTimes, Take-Two Interactive will announce first-week sales at a whopping $500 million! Will judge as soon as it's official on May 7.

Incidently, on the "my predictions" page the total won/lost for a prediction doesn't calculate correctly.
Taking my account as an example, on this prediction I bought in early at 55%, cashed out at 78% (needed the money elsewhere), bought back in at 78% and 82%, and then cashed out at delist at 100%. The gain displayed appears to only account for the gain on the position held at close, not the gain/loss from the earlier transactions.
I noticed that, too. Looking into it.

This game has been a big hit. Sold more in 1st week than Halo3 did in 5months. I still like Halo though, online game play is B-E-A-UTIFUL. I barely play this. Find me in Burger Shot chilling with the rest of the Cracker Killas. *`~CK~`*
